WE ARE PART OF THE "GLOBAL CITIZEN FESTIVAL: MANDELA 100"

WE ARE PART OF THE "GLOBAL CITIZEN FESTIVAL: MANDELA 100"

WHAT IS GLOBAL CITIZEN?

Global Citizen is a movement of engaged citizens who are using their collective voice to end extreme poverty by 2030. On their platform, Global Citizens learn about the systemic causes of extreme poverty, take action on those issues, and earn rewards for their actions — as part of a global community committed to lasting change.

Since 2011, millions of Global Citizens around the world have taken over 14 million actions to solve the world's biggest challenges. That’s 14 million emails, tweets, petition signatures and phone calls targeting world leaders to end extreme poverty by 2030.

"To date, the actions by our global community along with our high-level advocacy efforts and with our partners, have resulted commitments and policy announcements from leaders, valued at over $37 billion that is set to affect the lives of more than 2.25 billion people by 2030. A total of 650 million people's lives have already been impacted."

Nelson Mandela was born 100 years ago and he said that we could be the generation to alleviate extreme poverty.

On 2 December 2018, Global Citizen will host the "Global Citizen festival: Mandela 100"which will take place at FNB Stadium, in Johannesburg. Featuring artists like Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Cassper Nyovest, D'banj, Ed Sheeran, Eddie Vedder, Femi Kuti, Pharrell Williams & Chris Martin, Sho Madjozi, Tiwa Savage, Usher, and Wizkid, and more to be announced at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa. These artists will be joined by world leaders and private sector leaders to make commitments on the issues surrounding extreme poverty.

Global Citizen will be gifting 50 pairs of Karün sunglasses to some of the artists, world leaders and private sector leaders who will be participating in the festival as a symbol of change.

We are very proud of this collaboration with Global Citizen; together, we can prove that is possible to create high-quality products that generate a positive impact on our society and our planetwhich can be seen as a symbol of change. Used as a tool to inspire millions of people into joining a movement of like-minded people who take action and look at the world from a different point of view”.
